Sport First Aid & A.E.D Training Course

On completion of training course, successful students should be able to:

The role of the first aider

Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)

administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation

How to assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

Administer first aid to a casualty with a major bleed

Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes

Understand the anatomy and physiology of a sports injury

Management of a fracture or dislocation and soft tissue injury

Management of a head injury

Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, small splinters)

Award from F.A.C
